New Afghan

1513306_709014465775795_1693454367_nWant new furniture for the den. I made this to go on the couch. It’s actually a very easy pattern and is done in a very soft cotton. I got the pattern and yarn from Willow Yarns. These are blocks that you add as you go along, the edging is rather frilly but I love the poofy flowers in each square.

Christmas Gifts

xmasMy brother and his wife raised one of their nieces as their own. This is her first year of college. I have never seen a kid so excited to go to school in my life!! She wanted something in her college colors. This is an over sized shawl and 1920’s flapper hat. I kind of made these up as I went along. The shawl has some nice stich work but it’s hard to see with the two color yarn. Oh well, she said her dorm was cold so this might help.

Christmas Gifts

whiteDad’s simple request, white hanging hand towels for the kitchen. I did a simple dish cloth, too. He has everything he wants so buying him anything is stupid. He tells me what he wants and I make it. I did get him the new Dogshaming book. If you love your fur babies you must check out the Dogshaming website.   http://www.dogshaming.com/

Goddess of Hospitality Shawl

red shawlThis is done in Paton’s yarn with sequins. It’s not blocked yet. The pattern is on sale at Annie’s website but I got it from a magazine, (Crochet World or Crochet Today) can’t remember which. It’s a nice and long shawl but I think if I had to make another I might try to make it a little wider.  I love the sequins in the yarn!!!

I forgot to post this!!!!!

shawlThis is a long double wrap shawl with pineapple edgings!! (love pineapples). It is done in light mohair. I may get to wear this one since I live were it just doesn’t get very cold. I can tell ya where to find this pattern, just ask. This is yarn from my hoard…. pictures of hoard to follow!! LOL!

I wish I had more time to work on my projects! Having to work a job really cramps my crochet time!

Sparkley!! Shawl

It’s hard to tell from this picture but this thread has a silver thread running thru is and has sequins in it!!! It is so pretty but can be hard to work with if you don’t make loose stitches. This would be a lovely addtion to a wedding dress or a shoulder cover for an evening gown!

Please note that I do pay for some of these patterns and don’t mind sharing but the people that took the time to publish their patterns do this for a living. I will always let you know where I found the pattens so you can check out their other work and purchase from them!!

Late Late Late!!!!

This is from an afgan pattern but I used smaller yarn and adjusted the pattern since the pattern was trying to make this in sections. It’s easier to do it all at once than have to sew it together! I love the pineapples and the top and bottom scallops!! I actually found this yarn on a large spool at an antique store! Paid about $5.00 for it and had enough to make a sweet lap afgan for a chilly nite watching TV!
